Landscaping & Patios
Paul Dixon Ltd creates all kinds of patios using a variety of materials. The pictures shown are using natural Burlington stone from various quarries. Naturally riven green or blue stone can be cut and riven into any size required. Different ways of laying paving can create different effects.
Stone sets and old fashioned Lakeland cobbles can also be laid. Stone features can also be created in any shape or form to give interest to the landscape. Dressed edging stones are used around the edge of patios to give a finished edge and are also used on lawns, flower beds and paths. Stone steps are built using a natural riven edge given a softer more rustic feel or can be dressed to present a more formal appearance. Different kinds of stone are used in landscaping to provide rustic or formal designs. All patios are laid on a hardcore base, overlain by a substantial depth of concrete with paving flags bedded onto and then pointed with mortar. Through time and experience Paul has developed this method of construction to ensure the final patio is solid and reliable to give long lasting service without movement or cracking. Gardens are designed in conjunction with and to reflect a clients desires to produce a garden which meets their personal taste. Paul develops and co-ordinates the design and then uses machinery to carry out the ground works and ensure delivery of the final product.
